the big idea

Generally speaking, the ‘big idea’ is a statement made about life through the author’s work. It could be a valuable lesson, moral, or a significant statement about the human condition. The theme of a literary work is the underlying central idea or generalization about life.

Further, the big idea highlights the author’s opinion or raises questions about human nature or the meaning of human experiences. Even if the author’s theme/world views/core values do not confirm or agree with my own beliefs, the work will still have a theme that illuminates some aspect of the human condition which is highlighted in my discussion.

the big idea

Each of the four books include the topics and themes under the umbrella of personal healing, self-knowledge and heightened awareness. They explore healing, energy flow through visualizations, grounding energy, and meditation. Further, each offers unique perspectives on integrating and balancing chakra energy through body, mind and soul.

highlights

  • shamanism refers to the work of partnering with the spirits
  • shamanic and kundalini energy involve chakra energy systems in the human body intrinsic to the holistic health of the matrix: body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit.
  • the shamanic root system pulls and directs your spiritual energy currents out from the body and safely down into the ground.
  • this root system (visualize a tree of life) is metaphysical and constructed from subtle energy which requires an attentive, meditative awareness.
  • when we combine body, mind and soul energies, they need a different sort of grounding
  • to remove the energy from the body and ground it safely, we need a solid foundation of knowledge, understand and a supportive community.
  • caution is given: dormant strong emotional energies can lead to emotional and energetic unstable states, even in the clearing process
  • Integrity comes from experience, introspection and time which ties into responsibility and your intentions
  • It is important to decide what your intentions are with the book at the outset of your practice

My awareness, interests, understandings, and appreciation in the field of holistic energy healing has been essential to my personal growth and mental health. I have some experiences with kundalini yoga practices. Yet, I began reading the four books on shamanic and kundalini journeying, largely from a beginner’s perspective.

The more I read, research and practice, the more positive impact this theme has had on my holistic health. The four books have become essential additions to my Reading List.
