Why the rainbow? Twist

And a wee bit of a commentary:
For some ‘mysterious’ reason — and that seems to be the nature of being open to free-thinking — when Deborah brought the prompt of ‘Food’, the word Synchronicity came to mind.
Food + mysterious connection (M.O. of my mind) = poem on synchronicity
As I explore the Haiku format, I have recently learned of a related style called the Senryu. My understanding is that the Senryu follows 5–7–5 format. A Senryu focuses on human nature and it is typically not written about nature or seasons (like a Haiku was originally designed to do). The Haiku tends to be more serious. Like the Haiku, the Senryu does not have to rhyme.
Although I am working on correcting this, I realized that my Haiku and Tanka poems tend to be built more on human nature. Senryu poems are constructed on the irony of being human. I have found my true match!
And, of course, I must thank Deborah Christensen for being such a good teacher and match-maker:) Here is her wonderful ‘food for thought’.
