Reading Reviews: The Spirit

In this section, I review the books I have read which relate to the Spirit in the Identity Matrix. These expand on the main list of books I have reviewed in the Reading Room.

In the Identity Matrix reviews, I share reading material specifically related to the body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit.

the spirit

Circe

Circe by Madeline Miller definitely spiked my interest in mythology. I still have a book on myths from the 7th grade and I look at from a fresh perspective.

Miller has a simple style that flows and integrated an extensive knowledge. She did the same in The Song of Achilles which held my attention in a way I was not expecting. I gobbled this one up as well.

A Map to Otherworld

by Rebekah E. Gamble

Map of Otherworld presents an introduction to meditative-style shamanic journeying.

This is a thorough illustrated map to the spirit worlds.

The author has an easy to follow writing style that makes it feel more like she is just talking directly to you in a casual conversation about shamanism.

A Shamanic Kundalini Awakening

by Brendan Ring who also reviewed Map to Otherworld:

Whether beginner or more experienced practitioner, you would do well to add this gem to your shamanic library.

the book of disquiet

by fernando pessoa

The Book of Disquiet is the Portuguese modernist master Fernando Pessoa’s greatest literary achievement.
